Joanna Newsom Live...

A feast for my ears... Amy and me went to the Colston hall last Thursday night to see Joanna Newsom...I have loved her music for years but have only seen her on Jools Holland and play my two albums....she was incredible..came on stage on her own for a solo with her harp for the first number, wearing a long grecian style green dress and high high shoes. She sat down, said hi etc, then rucked up her dress to her knees, leaned the harp back between them and rested it on her shoulder...then her back went straight as a board and she nodded her head and began to play the harp and sing so brilliantly that my arm hairs were doing their mexican wave and Amy (who had never heard of her til I dragged her along) just whispered "wow" in my ear. Here is a picture of her...not from Thursday but you can imagine the green dress...
